Comedy in Basingstoke

The September 25th 2008 comedy evening review will be posted soon.

July 2008: review by Mandy Howard

I would like to thank Jan Jack and the Red Lion Hotel for yet another wonderful evening that was full of laughter. This is now my fourth visit and I must say this was by far the best night. A great time was had by all, and what's more it was all for charity.

Naomi House children's hospice was the charity that benefited from a wonderful nights entertainment. An auction and a raffle kept Danny Dawes and Jan Jack busy during the intervals. The prizes that were donated were also very good.

Danny Dawes did a wonderful job of warming up the crowd for when the comedians came on. I am just hoping he continues to compere at The Laughter House. He is a very talented man.

Tony Cowards was very good. He seemed a little nervous when he stepped onto the stage but then who wouldn't in front of a Basingstoke crowd.

I always love hearing Nessie Flange's adventures and had a real treat this time as we all got to hear a little more. She always seems to make me laugh and I dare say she is the reason I continue visiting The Laughter House events. I am looking forward to her next lot of adventures.

Andrew Roper was awesome. In fact I was laughing so hard I went home with a sore throat. I still remember a lot of his act and find myself remembering things and chuckling to myself.

I hope both Tony and Andrew will be brought back at a later date.

This has to be the best £10 I have ever spent for a night's entertainment.
Jan - keep up the good work. You will always have loads of others to support you.
